What if Trey Parker and Matt Stone got the rights to direct and dub an anime? This is EXACTLY what would happen I think. Must see this dub, it's hilarious!

Original 5/10, English Dub is 11/10
So basically an American company got the rights to this for super cheap, and by the fourth dimension the English actors went to tape their dialog the producers expected the whole project to bbe a bust in usa. They told the actors to just advert lib and improvise whatever the hell they want to say. The result is one of the funniest things I have ever seen. There is no other anime that is like the dubbed version of this show. Again, the Japanese version is just a very bones ghost series. Kinda boring. The dubbed version is an entirely dissimilar thing. Do yourself a favor and sentinel this.

The dub made this more funnier
And so the story is virtually some kids discovering new demons and unwrapping mysterious. With stereotypical characters.
The anime and plot itself was pretty cheesy and I probably would accept dropped it weren't for the dub. For those who don't know this anime failed massively in japan and then when it got the rights for a dub they simply told the voice actors to practice what ever they desire.
It was dubbed into a style of a gag dub which included a lot of adult humour.
This in my opinion turned this ho-hum trainwreck of an anime into a masterpiece.
Charleswright805 you must be out of your mind if y'all thought the original thing was adept.
and then yep definitely check out the dub

Lookout the dub for the love of God
This anime is a typical Ghostbusters/Scooby Doo anime past itself. I don't see why it's then highly lauded when the storyline is non that compelling. It'southward the dub that truly makes information technology worth watching. I can't draw how hilarious the dub is, simply that they chose well when they decided to shred the script and get with their ain thing. Information technology was an experiment that paid off immensely considering I was laughing every episode. The episodes themselves seemed to get past so quickly, I was having such a good fourth dimension.
Don't carp with the Japanese subs for the "real experience", simply spotter some other ghost story anime instead. Watch this dub because y'all need this hilarity in your life.

I'g and then so madly in love with this blooming hilarious anime!
Warning: Spoilers
I just love how we are seeing school children having such potty mouths and taking the pee outta American culture during the 00's. I loved how they are taking the p*ss with horror too, it just worked so brilliantly! Man if you ever demand a laugh, this is definately the one for yous and you'd exist in for a thrilling ride!
Loved the Eng dub cast, especially the brillant Rob Mungle voicing the demon cat! Also when Netflix was mentioned on this, I immediately freaked out since it wasn't really known in the early 00s. However in the mid 10s, it'southward at present quite pop but honestly, was this anime really telling the future?! That is merely insane and I'grand really not over that lol!
First-class fantabulous excellent is all I'll say, I'one thousand seriously and immediately giving this anime a 10/10!

Tasty classic horror anime feel
In my homeland, the dubbed version of this anime is pretty pop along the kids in the ambulation era (early 2000s). Information technology's scary to some extent, humorous dialogue in each episode, and the suspense backside the ghosts' origins as well captivating. I just establish out that the English dub version are hilarious and so I rewatched the subbed and Eng dub version. It turns out both were great! The sub version (and I call back the dubbed version in my country) follows the aforementioned narrative, but the dub version is crazy and turns many cliche dialogues into a jewel. What makes me like this anime then much, is about the ghost details. They are something that really comes from Nippon erstwhile schoolhouse urban legends, and the anime pretty much convey how information technology works. For the past few years I tried to looking for another classic horror anime, but many titles also including action and (as well much) gore, making Yamishibai probably is the one that resembles this anime more than. It'south deplorable knowing this anime series aren't popular in Japan, considering for me, what's best from anime sometimes isn't lots of blood gushes or xx minutes of activeness scenes, information technology is the classic story that everyone know the premise, but stir it into an experience that so genuine, it'due south memorable.

Kids, ghosts. Adept fun. English dubbed version is best.
Alarm: Spoilers
Miyanoshita Satsuki and her younger blood brother moved from Tokyo Keichiro the hometown of his mother subsequently her expiry following a long affliction. On their first day at their new school, they found an sometime abandoned schoolhouse which is haunted by demons and evil spirits.
At first, not seem to desire to get too involved , until their true cat, Kaya, is trapped by a demon. To save the boondocks, Satsuki and her younger brother Keichiro along with her new friends,
Momoko Reo(Leo in English language) and Hajime course a squad to fight those demons.
In the English dubbed version, which is better, we follow the adventures of a young girl, her piffling whiny brother, and friends as they effort to rid their school of ghosts. Satsuki, the protagonist has to perform all kinds of rituals and such in the process of "exorcising" demons from her school and town. She is accompanied and sometimes helped past her friends: Hajime is the typical pre-adolescent debauchee :) Keiichirou is her cry-babe blood brother, a really fun character. Leo is a nerdy-geeky type know-information technology-all. Momoko is an older daughter, she'southward an over-the-elevation Christian(sort of a Japanese Tammy Faye Bakker) Together they do some cool, funny "ghostbusting" recommended 100 %
Voice actors dub brilliantly. Blitheness and stories are great.

One of the most hilarious shows I've seen!
Normally shows that accept plots like this annoy me, where someplace is haunted and blah blah apathetic. Only this one didn't I took the time to sit down down and sentry it and information technology was so funny information technology made chocolate milk come up out of my nose! Though the characters are in elementary school, probably around fifth course, there is so much adult humor in this show that I couldn't end laughing. The dialog is well written, witty, and hysterical. The ongoing barrack between Satsuki and Hajime are the best I've seen, and if at that place is whatsoever reason to watch the show it's for Hajime! Information technology will make y'all remember the days when yous and your friends went searching for buried treasure, or played games like that! Even though... I've never actually gone into a haunted schoolhouse firm, it would be rather like this evidence if I did. I recommend anyone who likes anime to grab your best buds, pop some popcorn...brand sure your parents arn't home for all the sexual innuendos that you will hear, and be prepared to laugh until you have tears streaming downwards your cheeks.

Rating 5.0
Favorite Episode: The Corpse that Roams in the Dark - Shirotabi
Exercise NOT WATCH THE SUBBED VERSION. Seriously the english dub was a masterpiece, when information technology was funny I couldn't breathe. 5 stars for the humor, but -5 for the god awful plot, if the plot was endurable this would be a 9/10.

Watch The Dub
Ghost Stories is most a agglomeration of kids who fight ghosts. It is a comedy/horror.
Information technology is based on a book series by Toru Tsunemitsu.
The plot of the show is very weak just it makes up for it in the dialogue. This anime is very funny. Some of the characters are a bit one dimensional just they are still great. The phonation interim is very practiced too. The animation is very skillful for the fourth dimension menses it was fabricated in.
I would recommend his to anyone interested in a expert comedy.

Its funny, if you forget that racisim homophobia and others things dont exist
The sub is horrible. But the ADV dub is hilarious. Its similar an abridged series except it was fabricated by professionals. Just tbh its offensive. Like actually offensive. But a lot of adult animated shows are offensive. Tbh you but have to arctic out and enjoy information technology because at the end of the day you ranting on tumblr nearly how offensive it is isn't going to change anything.

The English dub is pure one-act
I have still to see the subtitle version but the English dub is some of the greatest one-act I've seen. It's filled with 2000s pop culture references, whacky characters, and a fun take on Japanese ghost stories. Highly recommend.

Subbed is Awesome
I watched the subbed for reasons I don't want to go into and have to explain hither. Dub people hate me. Anyway... the original Japanese subbed version is First-class. If you like classic Japanese voice actors and beloved the Japanese language the subtitled version is awesome! Don't permit the dub people scare you away from the original.

A truly excellent series
Gakkô no kaidan/Ghost Stories begins with Miyanoshita Satsuki and her blood brother Keiichirou moving to their tardily mother's hometown. They discover that their mother was an exorcist who sealed away many evil spirits. However due to urban developments the spirits are being released. Together with her brother and her new friends, Momoko, Hajime and Reo, Satsuki takes up the job of protecting the town and sealing the spirits away again.
The series is quite bluntly, brilliant. The animation is superb, the characters are interesting and likable (besides Hajime'south 'bad habit') and the story lines are thrilling. Every episode had me on the edge of my seat. One thing in particular is that the gang are 'just kids.' They have no super powers, no gadgets or weapons of any kind (other than the Ghost Diary belonging to Satsuki's mother than contains data on the ghosts). Despite that they repeatedly have on supernatural evil and prevail. The audience actually cares nigh them, worries for them and is delighted when they finally save the day.
My favourite character personally is Satsuki's best friend Momoko. She is polite, sweetness and kind-hearted, yet nearly completely fearless when information technology comes to confronting evil forces.
The writing is also peak-notch, with each episode managing to provide genuine chills without having to resort to costless violence or claret-letting.
Why the English dubbers chose to make the dub a parody series is beyond me. Picket the existent matter, in Japanese with subtitles. It is much ameliorate.

The funniest dub always made
First off: Lookout man. THE. DUB. I'thou serious. The subbed versus dubbed versions is probably the biggest difference from the two I've ever seen from any piece of fiction always fabricated. It changes the characters personality, the plot, and even the whole genre, only we'll get to that.
Allow's start off with the subbed version. Uuuuh. How do I put information technology? Boring, generic, cliché, barely bearable characters, bromidic plot... For me, information technology would be a depression 5/10 tends to four. Information technology's fabricated to be ooooooo scary, but it's barely spoopy. Information technology also has some creatures literally ported from other movies and horror stories (I call up seeing something similar to the ring), and yes. I recollect yous get the idea. If it doesn't get a one, it's solely because it didn't "hurt" watching this, or it wasn't really obnoxious, dreadful, terrible. Just awfully unpleasant.
Now let'southward get to why my rating is so high from what I've said so far. The dubbed version. This is the most hilarious goggle box animated series I've ever seen. Hands down. For some reasons the Japanese studio behind the og anime didn't really care nigh it anymore and then the english dubbing studio could basically exercise whatever they desire. They went ballistic. Incredibly, crazily ballistic. Nosotros went from Horror/Action anime to a ridiculously funny one. The jokes' timing is perfect, the references are on point, the 4th wall breaking is constant and hilarious, and the characters went from hateable to hateable because of how funny they are (if that makes sense).
This dub is, to my knowledge, considered as the founder of the "abridged" concept, when basically voice actors actually says funny things over the images even tho the original voice acting is serious, so it could be considered as a parody. But we achieve genius level with Ghost Stories, cuz this dub is very much not a parody, and moreso very much official. Sure, you reeeeally have to be someone that has a free mind and that isn't easily offended, because nighttime humor is the chief type of humor in Ghost Stories, and the blasphemous is also very much nowadays, so definitely not kid-friendly humour, only that's my favourite kind of humor so that'due south probably why it striking the spot for me.
Overall, I rate this a 8/10, because, as much as I want to rate it a 10/10, we tin't really forget that the original anime also count in the note, and that it's only fair that this fact alone drags the score down a bit, but yeah, actually really funny, very entertaining, this dub is the all-time/funniest dub from an anime ever.

The dub is one of the greatest comedies ever made
If you get offended past absolutely annihilation, become away. This anime isn't for you. Merely if you tin have a joke fifty-fifty if your own race or religion is the punchline, get gear up for ane of the funniest comedies always made.
Through every second of this anime the vox actors are having and then much fun it's impossible not to relish yourself. This non only makes it funnier, merely also makes the dub sound far more than natural and fluent than 99% of other dubs. The voice actors know what they are doing as they make it more than a collection of cheap jokes.
Honestly, this show is a comedic masterpiece. If you haven't watched it go find it on amazon prime or wherever its available in your state.

Seriously? I have watched all the versions of this series and everyone talks about the English versions that it is best but I would like to appreciate the Hindi version which consists of very few dialogue changes and fantabulous vocalisation artists, specially Hajime's dub The English language version is also good only some characters sounds funny EVERYTIME

What a real English language dub should audio like
Ah yep, an English dub better than that of Panty and Stocking. My favorite graphic symbol has got to be Hajime. His lines were then funny! It sucks that the voice actors just had to forget nigh all the fun they had in the proficient ol' 2000'south and kiss up to the woke crowd. What they don't know is this dub will surely tick off the people they suddenly pamper. And that's why I love this dub. If only people weren't so sensitive present, we'd exist living like The Jetsons.
